The Royal Bank of Scotland Financial Markets has appointed
Ignacio Alvarez-Carlon as Head of Capital Markets Sales for Iberia and
Luis Toroba-Lopez who will also join the Iberian sales team. Together with
Carlos Cobiella, who joined the bank in 2001, all three members of the team will
be based in London, although Ignacio and Luis are expected to relocate in due
course to Madrid to build the banks distribution franchise in the region.
Ignacio and Luis will both take up their full
responsibilities once registration has been completed with the FSA and the team
will report to Iain Wright, Head of Capital Markets Sales.
Ignacio was previously a partner of FG, at that time the
largest independent Iberian brokerage firm, before joining Merrill Lynch, where
he was Head of Debt Capital Market Sales to Spanish and Portuguese institutional
investors, based in Madrid. Luis worked with Ignacio throughout this period.
