Cirrus and Maestro

The international cash withdrawal facility
The international cash withdrawal and point of sale facility

The Cirrus and Maestro logos on your card allow you to access cash from over 550,000 cash machines world wide. The easiest way of identifying participating banks is to look for the Cirrus and/or Maestro signs which are on the reverse of your card.

As well as allowing access to over 550,000 cash machines world wide, Maestro is also an international point of sale facility allowing you to pay for goods and services at over 4,400,000 retail outlets in over 68 countries in much the same way as you use Switch in the UK.

When the Bank debits a transaction in foreign currency to the account the amount is converted into sterling at the Bank’s then current rate of exchange adjusted by inclusion of a foreign exchange transaction fee of 2.65%.

In addition, the following charges will also be payable for transactions carried out outside the United Kingdom – 2.25% of the transaction amount (maximum fee £4.00) at cash dispensing machines and a fee of £0.75 for each point of sale transaction at other outlets. Fees are the same for both Highline and Cashline card customers.
