Give As You Earn Case Study
Under our uniquely generous double matched Give As You Earn scheme, we
donate an additional £2 for every £1 given by staff, to match individual monthly
staff donations of up to £100.
In 2001, staff donated over £1.4m from their pay and this was matched with a
further £2.5m from the Group.
Among the 11,000 employees who are giving direct from their pay each month are
staff from the Royal Banks Lanarkshire Retail Office. Their donations, together
with the Groups double matching, are benefiting St Andrews Hospice in Airdrie.

Mary Carter, branch manager of the Banks East Kilbride branch was one of the
local staff who signed up, St Andrews Hospice is a high profile charity in
Lanarkshire. I think its important to support local causes, and the double
matching Give As You Earn scheme is a fantastic way I can do this.
Karen McFadyen, Regional Manager Lanarkshire, said With the Groups double
matching, St Andrews Hospice is set to receive £50,000 each year from staff in
Lanarkshire through their payroll giving enough to fund the hospice for two
weeks.
