Expanding via Franchising

Franchising offers a great way to expand

Franchising your business provides the opportunity to expand your network without large scale capital investment.

As the franchisor, you select the franchisees, to run the outlets in your network, keeping products and services firmly within your control. Moreover, since franchisees invest their own money and work for their own profit they are likely to be highly motivated to succeed.

In addition, centralised costs and overheads can be lower for a franchise network than for a chain of company-owned outlets – a few skilled staff can manage the entire network.

Before franchising your business you should:

  • identify the costs involved
  • seek legal advice on a Franchise Agreement
  • undertake market research and planning
  • protect the trade marks and brand name of your franchise concept
  • set up a pilot operation
  • establish a training programme for your franchisees
  • obtain specialist financial advice

For a free guide on expanding a business via franchising (worth up to £8.50), or to arrange for one of our franchise specialists to get in touch with you, contact us or call us on 0800 521 607.
