When you're taking out a mortgage, it makes sense to buy
a little extra peace of mind.

As with all insurances there are some
exclusions, but these have been kept to a minimum. The main ones are claims arising from:

(90 days where a RBS mortgage is not arranged at the same time), or unemployment which is
voluntary
- any medical condition for which you have received advice, treatment or counselling in
the year before the loan started, whether you were off work or not.
- pregnancy or childbirth unless either of these develops into a complication which is
diagnosed as such by a doctor or consultant who specialises in obstetrics.
- alcohol or drug abuse; your own misconduct.
